Vale of Glamorgan Senior Football League Round Up 

The Barry Cup took centre stage this past weekend, no cup upsets as all the Premier Division sides came through unscathed. Seven games in the first round to get seven teams through to join the nine team who received a bye to get the last 16. With me?

Premier Division leaders Barry Athletic overcame a difficult away trip to league newcomers and Division Two pacesetters Vale Madrid 4-1, whole Cowbridge Town required extra time to get past Division One Barry Saints 2-1. Cwm Talwg of Division One succumbed to Penarth Town 3-2 whole St Athan got past Cadoxton Imps 3-1. FC Barry Belgrade demolished Tynewydd 8-0 to advance.

Outside of the Premier Division sides Cogan Coronation comfortably defeated Division Two Glenbrook 5-0 whole Sully Sports got the biggest win of the round with an 11-0 routing of BV.

The second round threw up two all Premier Division ties with Island Marine hosting Rhoose and Penarth Town playing Barry Athletic.

There were three league ties played in Division Two with Llantwit Major making it four out of four with a narrow 3-2 victory over Island Marine B. Major now level on points with Vale Madrid at the top of the league with a game in hand. Barry Albion edged out St Athan B 1-0 while AFC Rhoose B saw off BRT Dynamos with 3-2.
