Vale of Glamorgan Senior Football League Round Up

On a weekend where the Premier Division took a back seat it was Sully Sports that took centre stage.

Early division one leaders Sully continue to steamroll all in the path as they cruised past Cadoxton Imps 3-0. It has been an excellent start by Sully who are undefeated after six games scoring 25 goals and conceding just 5 so far.

While Sully pull away at the top, the rest of the division sees second and bottom separated by 6 points. SP Billy moved into second as they edged out Cwm Talwg 2-1 while Penarth Town B gained three points with a 4-2 win over Barry Saints. Cadoxton Atheltic secured their first win of the season as they saw off Cardiff Airport B 5-3.

In Division Two, leaders Vale Madrid kept up their winning ways with a comprehensive 4-0 win over St Athan B. Cadoxton Barry kept on the leaders tails as they narrowly defeated bottom side Glenbrook 4-3. It’s tight at the top with Vale Madrid and Cadoxton Barry level on points and Llantwit Major looming three points behind with two games in hand. BRT Dynamos were held 2-2 by Rhoose B and BV picked up their second win of the season with a 2-1 at Barry Albion.

Meanwhile, the Premier Division took the aforementioned break as it was the SWFA Senior Cup second round, and it wasn’t the best day for the Vale as Barry Athetic, St Athan, Rhoose and Cowbridge Town all crashed out. Island Marine are the only Vale league team left in the competition as they saw off Trecenydd 2-1.

Next week a full league program returns with a top of the table clash as Premier Division leaders Barry Athletic host second place St Athan.

Check back here next week for a full league round up.
