Barry Athletic 3-2 St Athan

League leaders Barry Athletic came from behind twice to grab a late winner to come away with all three points in this enthralling contest.

St Athan led twice through Phil Morgan and Ryan John but Athletic struck back for the win with goals from Josh Bell (2) and Harry Carter.

In a competitive encounter Athletic saw an early penalty wide before Saints were awarded their own spot kick that Phil Morgan expertly converted.

Athletic drew level when a long shot was parried by Andrews in the Saints goal but the rebound was smashed in.

Saints retook the lead with a moment of brilliance from Ryan John, as he cut onto his left to curl an unstoppable effort into the top corner.

Saints went in at half time leading but minutes into the second period Athletic levelled again as a pull back was calmly finished.

The game went back and fore as Athletic pushed for a winner as Saints hit them on the break looking for their own rewards. Athletic forced Andrews into a sublime save from distance before Morgan had an excellent chance blocked up the other end.

However, it was Athletic who took the spoils to break Saints hearts. A clever flick off a throw put Athletic in to finish past the keeper and send the home side into jubilation.

A very good game which both sides contributed too with full blooded performances.
