Vale Football League Midweek Preview 4/9

Vale Football League Preview 4/9

After an action packed Saturday we continue with the Vale football league action on Wednesday evening with some very intriguing matches. Once again the midweek games throw up interesting permutations and we’ll take a look and try and predict the outcomes. 7 out of 11 on Saturday, just saying……….

We have to start with the evenings big clash as champions Barry Athletic host the contenders to that throne AFC Rhoose at Bryn Y Don. Rhoose have a perfect start so far and Athletic rebounded from last weeks loss with a thumping win on Saturday. This one will be full blooded and full throttle with no love lost, we are saying to look for Rhoose to take the victory in a brilliant contest.

Cardiff Airport welcome Holton Road to Ceri Road in another top clash, Holton have two out of two so far but this Airport side will be a tough customer this season. Look for an exciting game but Holton may just have the edge.

Cadoxton Imps will be looking to rebound from their loss on Saturday, playing Sully Sports here. Sully were thumped 5-0 and they too will be looking for a reaction, their Alliance league side do not have a game so that may factor into the outcome with maybe some extra quality added in one or two areas, saying this, the Imps aren’t a side to be kept down, this one will be interesting and we see Imps edging it.

Cogan Coronation got their first win on Saturday and welcome Island Marine to The Rec. Island Marine come in desperate for action as they have only played one game this season, a 6-0 opening day triumph. As with the previous game the lack of Alliance league side game may, may, prove a deciding factor, this is tough to call and we are getting on the fence to say draw.

St Athan will want to come back from a tough loss on Saturday as they welcome Penarth Town to the village. Penarth didn’t have a game Saturday and come into this well rested after their first game of the season, we think this one will see the spoils shared.

Finally in the Premier Division, Tynewydd host Cowbridge Town, both sides are looking for their first points. We think they’ll both find one each here.

In Division One, leaders Cadoxton Barry head to Barry Sports Centre to play Holton Road B. Caddy Barry have been dominate so far but Holton Road B picked up their first win on the weekend. Expect the league leaders to keep up their perfect start with a win here.

Island Marine B also have had a perfect start to the campaign but face a tough task against Rhoose Social. However, Marine B have been impressive so far and we see them taking all the points here.

Barry Vikings can be very pleased with their start to the campaign with two wins from three, SP Billy still look for those first points. We see Vikings continuing their good start with a win here.

Penarth Town B host Cwm Talwg. Penarth B had an amazing 7-6 win last week and Talwg won their first game of the season on the weekend. We think this one will be close but see Penarth B triumphing.

AFC Rhoose sit in third early doors and welcome Barry Athletic B to Ceri Road, Athletic B aren’t finding goals hard to come by but have one win from three. We can only see Rhoose B winning here.

And finally, it’s the battle of the Vale’s as United play Madrid. This should be a cracking contest, United have a 50/50 record while Madrid have lost their opening two. Look out for a high scoring close game here with United coming out on top, just.

So a top evening of Vale footballs lies ahead on Wednesday, check back here Wednesday night for a full round up of the results.
