St Athan 5-3 Sully

St Athan 5-3 Sully Sports

St Athan lifted themselves off the foot of the Vale Premier Division in some style as they collected all three points against Sully Sports.

Karl Steel struck twice, with James Austin, Phil Morgan and Kieran Ashton adding the others.

Saints raced into a 4-0 lead inside the first half an hour but let their foot off the gas and Sully battled to pull back three goals.

St Athan skipper James Andrews pulled off a penalty save between the sticks before Saints sealed a big three points.

St Athan do not have a fixture next weekend but return to action in two weeks with a tough game away to league leaders Barry Athletic.

St Athan B picked up their third win of the season with an impressive victory away to Vale Madrid.

On form Craig Howells and up and coming Coree Roberts scoring the goals that see Saints B go joint second.

Saints B host Barry Athletic B next weekend.

A good day for the club with both sides winning, although plenty to work on for both firsts and seconds going forward.
