Vale Football League Midweek Round Up 28/8

In completely different conditions from the weekend, the rain stopped and the sunny rays of Vale football shone through as the first mid week action of the season provided goals, goals and some more goals.

Jamie Livingston, Ricky Samson and Max Webb were the goal scorers for Cadoxton Imps as they served up somewhat of an upset to defeated champions Barry Athletic at Bryn Y Don, and really make everyone sit up and take notice.

AFC Rhoose joined Imps with a 100% record after two games, as they saw off a potentially tricky encounter by dispatching Cardiff Airport 2-0.

Cogan Coronation and Penarth Town played out a 1-1 draw in this east Vale derby. While in the Rural Vale derby St Athan edged out Cowbridge Town 3-2 to collect their first win in a cracker.

Sully Sports started their campaign with a 3-1 triumph against Tynewydd, with Lewis Donavan, Ash Cottle and Kieran Ashton bagging the goals

In Division One, early pace setters Cadoxton Barry got past Barry Vikings 3-2, while AFC Rhoose B were victorious by the same score against Cwm Talwg and Rhoose Social eased to a 7-2 win over St Athan B for their first win as a club.

After Holton Road B were involved in a 3-3 opening day draw, they followed that with a nine goal thriller against Island Marine B, but it was Marine B who came out onto top 5-4 to make it two from two.

The goals kept on coming as Barry Athletic B won a high scoring affair 7-4 against SP Billy.

But the highest scoring game saw 13 goals shared as Penarth Town B edged Vale Madrid an incredible 7-6
