Vale Football League Preview 31/8

Vale Football League Preview 31/8

There is no time to catch your breath or rest those niggling injuries, Vale squads will be tested to the brink as we are into match day 3 of the Vale league.

The less said about our mid week predictions the better, but we’ll have another go here. What we can predict going off the midweek games is that there will be goals, a lot of them.

Cadoxton Imps, fresh off their huge win over Barry Athletic, host Cogan Coronation at the BSC. Imps are proving to be the real deal and we see them keeping their perfect start, although Cogan will make them earn it.

Barry Athletic will be looking to bounce back from that loss and head to play Sully Sports, who got off to a win midweek. A close encounter is sure to ensue but Athletic may well take the points here.

AFC Rhoose are living up to their mantel of preseason favourites and backed it up with two wins out of two. Tynewydd head up to Ceri Road without a win from their first two games, but are a side with great fortitude, but we think that
Rhoose may well have too much up front.

Cowbridge Town will be desperate to secure their first points of the season and host Cardiff Airport. Airport lost their opening game midweek but reports suggest they have a fine side and we believe it’ll be Airport who open their account with a win at the Bear Field, but it won’t be easy.

Holton Road didn’t feature in the midweek and their rest may very well benefit them greatly. St Athan on the other-hand ground out a win over Cowbridge and may be feeling the aftereffects. Holton Road will be up there come the end of the season and we see them taking the win here.

In Division One, leaders Cadoxton Barry face Barry Athletic B, Athletic B had a goal crazy game on Wednesday coming out on the winning side but Caddy have started well and expect them to keep that going.

Island Marine B have also started excellently, but come up against a real test in Vale Madrid. Vale Madrid lost on Wednesday but scored 6 goals, showing they have some serious fire power. Island Marine B will have to be right at it and we think this will be a high scoring draw.

Vale United return to action after a midweek break. They host Holton Road B in Corntown and this could be entertaining, goals have not been in short supply in Holton B matches, but we think Vale United get the victory here.

Barry Vikings play Rhoose Social at BSC. Vikings have continued to be a tenacious and resilient side but Rhoose Social really got their campaign up and running with a big midweek win and look for them to take the 3 points.

Cwm Talwg have started with two narrow defeats, but show signs having a decent season, St Athan B come in off the back of a heavy loss and will really want a good showing here, but we see Talwg edging it.

And finally, AFC Rhoose B host SP Billy, it’s been a tough start for SP and this one looks like being tougher. Rhoose B have started well, SP will certainly provide a challenge but we think Rhoose B come out on top.

So an entertaining Saturday lays ahead, check out venues in our fixtures section and check back here Saturday night or Sunday for a full round up of the Vale league action.
