Vale Football League Preview 7/9

Vale Football League Preview 7/9

After some simply straight up excellent games of football played in midweek, let’s hope the great action continues on Saturday. We look st this weekends games and give generally bad predictions, just for our own entertainment. (A miserable 4/11 in this midweeks!!)

The big clash of the day is at Ceri Road as league leaders AFC Rhoose welcome Cadoxton Imps. This promises to be an exciting, high scoring game with plenty of action, we think it’ll be a point a piece, leaving a little bit of the bubbly on ice.

Barry Athletic travel to play Cowbridge Town, Athletic have found their scoring boots while Town are looking for their first points. We believe this result is only going one way to the reigning champions.

Sully Sports welcome Cogan Coronation in what is always an invigorating encounter. Sully come off the back of an entertaining draw and Cogan a narrow loss. This will be a fine contest and we’ll shock the system and go with Sully here.

Cardiff Airport head to Cwrt Y Vil to play Penarth Town, Airport come in buoyed by a last minute leveller on Wednesday while Penarth will look to bounce back from a midweek defeat. Both teams are excellent footballing sides, keeping the ball on the deck and we will go for it being all square.

Island Marine host St Athan at Maslin Park, Marine are in great form with two wins from two and no goals conceded yet, while St Athan come in buoyed from a midweek victory. This will be a good contest and we think Marine will edge it.

Holton Road take on Tynewydd at BSC, these two had some great battles last season including the final of the SWFA Intermediate Cup. This will be a physical encounters but we see Holton coming out on top to continue their good start in the top flight.

In Division One, AFC Rhoose B head to St Athan looking to continue their good start to the campaign, St Athan B look for their first win but we think that search will continue as we see Rhoose B taking the points.

Vale Madrid play Barry Athletic B, Madrid are looking for their first points while Athletic B will be wanting to bounce back from two straight defeats, we can see Madrid getting off the mark here.

Island Marine B head to play Cwm Talwg coming off their first loss of the season after a very good start, Talwg have recovered well after starting with two losses to be unbeaten in their last two and we see this ending in a draw.

Holton Road B will play Penarth Town B and this should be guaranteed goals. Holton have scored and conceded 14 while Penarth B it’s 12 scored and conceded. So we are going with a very high scoring entertaining draw.

And finally, SP Billy host Vale United. SP are without a win an point so far but goals aren’t hard to come by and all their games have been entertaining, United meanwhile look like they could be challenging and we see them taking the win.

Another interesting Saturday lays ahead, all games 2pm kick offs, check out fixtures on this website for venues and look out for the full round up Saturday night.
