Vale of Glamorgan Football League Mid Week Round Up

Vale of Glamorgan Football League Round Up

Barry Athletic kept up up their table topping start in a mid week Island derby, as they condemned Island Marine to their first defeat of the season. Davies, Lee and Oaton with the goals while Stringer in goal pulled off an important penalty save. Rhoose moved up to second with an emphatic 6-1 hammering of Penarth Town. Sully Sports took their first three points of the season in some style beating last season’s division one rivals Barry Saints 3-0. St Athan also notched their first points of the season edging out Cowbridge Town in a 5-4 thriller of a west vale derby with a last minute winner.

In Division One, Holton Road went top of the league with a big 6-1 win over Cwm Talwg. Cadoxton Barry piled more misery on Cogan after their heavy defeat on the weekend, to hit them for 5 without response, while Tynewydd saw off Cadoxton Imps with an excellent 4-1 win.

On Saturday all three divisions return with a full fixture program with the Match of the Day likely to be Rhoose B vs Vale Madrid in Division Two with at least one perfect start set to go.

Check back here on the weekend for a full round up.
