Vale of Glamorgan Football League Preview 11/1/20
After an excellent start to the year last weekend the action keeps coming thick and fast in the Vale league.

In another mouth watering clash, Premier Division leaders AFC Rhoose head to play third place Cadoxton Imps. The last time these teams played saw Rhoose come back from four goals down to salvage a point. Expect another entertaining encounter and we think it’ll be a share of the spoils again.

Holton Road will be looking to take full advantage of any dropped points by Rhoose, as they travel to play Tynewydd. In the reverse fixture Holton Road ran out heavy, heavy winners, but this time around Tynny are on a four game unbeaten run, but we think Holton Road end that and extend their unbeaten league record.

St Athan host Cogan Coronation in a game that pits two very evenly matched sides with very similar records. Last time they played St Athan came out 3-1 victors in a game that could have gone either way. We think this one ends all square.

Penarth Town welcome Island Marine to Cwrt Y Vil in what could be a tremendous game between two dark horses in the division. Penarth are back on form and a Marine are an excellent outfit this season, we think this will be an entertaining draw.

Cowbridge Town travel to Cero Road to take on Cardiff Airport, who have been on a bad run while Town have shown signs of improvement in recent games. We think Cowbridge pick up a much needed win here.

In Division One, Barry Vikings look to close the gap on AFC Rhoose B at the top when they head to play Rhoose Social. BV sit seven points off the leaders but with two games in hand, this will be a stern test of BV’s title aspirations but we think they edge it.

Cadoxton Barry saw their unbeaten record disappear last week at the hands of Rhoose B and now sit third. However, they have three games in hand on the leaders and sit 12 points off top so are far from out of the title race yet. They head to Maslin Park to take on Island Marine B, this will be an entertaining game but we think Caddy Barry get back to winning ways.

Penarth Town B are on red hot form
and they head to play Vale Utd. Utd were edged out last week while Penarth B are the goal trail, we think Penarth B continue their rise up the table here.

Holton Road B will be looking to bounce back from defeat last week against Barry Athletic B, who play their first game of the new year. We think this will be a close one but see Athletic B coming away with the win.

Vale Madrid host Cwm Talwg in a rematch of last weekends fixture. That saw Talwg come out as winners and we think they’ll do it again this week in another close contest.

And finally, SP Billy picked up their first league win of the campaign last weekend and they host St Athan B at Pencoedtre. St Athan B have won their last two but now face a SP Billy side buoyed by that first win, we’ll go with a draw here.

Hopefully all games go ahead and then check back here Sunday for a full round up.
