Vale of Glamorgan Football League Preview

Penarth Town’s perfect start to the Premier Division ended last weekend with a 1-1 draw with league leaders St Athan, and now they look to take top spot on goal difference, but opponents Holton Road will have the same aspirations. This one at the Butts will be a classic, we think the points are shared.
Cadoxton Barry return to action after two weeks off looking to bounce back from defeat last time out. They play BV at the Butts who have lost the last two and we think Cadoxton Barry get back to winning ways here.
Island Marine picked up a win last time out and host Tynewydd at Maslin Park. Tynewydd secured a valuable point last week, we think this will be a good game and think it’ll be a narrow away win in somewhat of an upset.
After losing their first three, Cogan have gone unbeaten in the last two and they welcome Cowbridge Town to the Rec. Town have one win from seven this season, this won’t be easy but we see Cogan picking up the three points.
In Division One, it’s a quick turn around with Rhoose Social meeting Sully Sports at Ceri Road after last weeks thrilling 3-3 draw. No doubt this will just as exciting and we think there will be goals again and the points shared.
Cwm Talwg will be looking to take advantage of any slip at the top when they head to Pencoedtre to play Vale Athletic who have made a perfect start to the campaign but have only played three games. This will be a great test of both sides title aspirations, we think it ends a point a piece.
Vale United welcome BV seconds to Corntown off the back off an impressive win last week. BV have one win from six and we think Vale Utd cruise to victory here.
St Athan B have won their last two and they travel to Burnham Avenue to play Vale Madrid who have lost their last three. This will be a tight game but we think St Athan B edge the points.
St Athan C host Island Marine B still chasing their first points of the season. Island Marine B have only played three games and have one point from them, we think they pick up their first win of the season here.
And a good luck to Barry Athletic in the SWFA Cup as they play Llanharry in the first round, all other Vale teams got a bye to round two.
It’s sure to be another barnstorming weekend in the Vale leagues. Get along and check out some local football. Check back here Saturday night for a full round up.
