Vale of Glamorgan Football League Preview 30/11

After last weekends wash out, surely it’ll dry up for this weekend, won’t it. Well we have title races to get to.

Cadoxton Imps aim to retake top spot in the Premier Division as they host St Athan in Wenvoe, with the away team in somewhat of a slump and Imps in form, expect a home win here.

Penarth Town take on Barry Athletic at Cwrt Y Vil, Town’s form has improved lately but Athletic appear to be hitting their stride. This will be another close contest but we see Athletic just about edging Town here.

Cogan Coronation are in good form and they welcome Cowbridge Town to the Rec, Town have picked up in recent weeks but we think Cogan will have too much here and say home win.

In Division One, league leaders AFC Rhoose B travel to play bottom side SP Billy. SP picked up their first win of the season in the cup last time out and this won’t a straightforward task for the leaders, but we do say away win here.

Cadoxton Barry stay hot on Rhoose’s heels, knowing if they win their games in hand they go level on points. They host a much improved Holton Road B at Bryn Y Don in the home sides first game in two months, this will a good game but we think Caddy Barry will have too much.

Barry Vikings are very much in the title race and they play St Athan B at Wenvoe. Last time they played Vikings completely routed St Athan B and we can only see a home win this time.

Island Marine B take on Barry Athletic B just weeks after Athletic B won their previous encounter heavily. We expect a different story this time around and we’ll go with Marine B taking the win.

And finally, Vale United welcome Cwm Talwg to Corntown, United are on a bad run while Talwg won their last time out in the league although that was eight weeks ago. This will be decent and we’ll say United pick up a much needed victory.

Check back here Sunday for a full round up.
