Vale of Glamorgan Football League Round up 

Easter Saturday saw Premier Division champions and cup finalists decided with plenty of action along the way.

Vale United were finally crowned Premier Division Champions as they followed up a midweek 2-1 win over St Athan with a 4-2 victory over Island Marine thanks to goal from Ryan Jenkins, Owyn Poole (2) and
Jack Dummett. Having won every one of their league fixtures so far United are deserved champions. Now their attention turns to completing a flawless season maintaining their 100% record in the league and compete an exceptional treble with ASRS and Barry Cup finals coming up.

Elsewhere in the Premier, St Athan got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win against Masons Moving Group away at Severn Avenue with Josh Morgan, James Austin and Bradley Young scoring. Barry Athletic’s impressive late season resurgence continued with a big 5-1 over Penarth Town, Ben Jones, Nathan Gratton and a Kyle Caton hat trick securing the win.

Division One’s Supporters Cup finally got the semi finals played as Barry Athletic B edged Sully 3-2 after extra time with skipper Spencer Price, Lewis Marsh and Dan Morgan ensuring a place in the final. At Jenner Park they will play SP Billy who defeated Pumas 3-2. The final will now be played next Sunday (23rd), 2-15 kick off at Jenner Park.

In other league action, in division one Barry Belgrade closed the gap on Barry Athletic B to five points with a game in hand with a 2-1 win over Cardiff Airport B. Cadoxton Barry B got their first win in four and in some style as the second bottom club demolished the bottom side Glenbrook 10-2.

In Division Two, the title race was blown wide open as third place Penarth Town B thumped leaders Cadoxton Imps 5-1. Barry Saints followed up on their Dockers Cup win last week with a 7-2 triumph over BV. Barry Saints and Penarth B are both now four points behind Imps and both have a game in hand on the leaders. Rhoose B continued their excellent form with a 1-0 victory over Island Marine B and Pumas B secured their first win league since September with a 1-0 win against St Athan B.

Next week its the Supporters Cup final as Barry Athletic B will play SP
Billy. In league action Rhoose host champions Vale United in the Premier, in division one Pumas host title hopefuls Barry Belgrade and in division two it’s a crunch title clash as the top two collide with Cadoxton Imps playing Barry Saints with Penarth B looking to capitalise on any slip.
