Penarth Town’s treble chasing dream is still on as they made it to the Barry Cup final with a 3-0 win over Division one Vale United. After a goalless first half, second half goals from Knight, Thomas and Shallis saw Penarth through to the Vale league showpiece on 30th April.

In that final Penarth will meet Tynewydd who upset the odds to defeat AFC Rhoose 3-2 in dramatic fashion. Bevan put Rhoose in front but Case levelled from the spot minutes later, Williams then put Tynny back in front just before the break before Bolton levelled for Rhoose. But Tynewydd were awarded a penalty in the final minute and Case stepped up to convert to give Tynny a fantastic victory. Can they pull off one more upset against the trebling chasing Penarth Town.

In the Supporters Cup, one finalist is confirmed as Cwm Talwg saw off Holton Road B 3-2. Talwg started like a house on fire and were 3-0 up inside 15 minutes, goals from Yeoman, Roberts and Kirke stunned Holton B, who did rally with goals from Angove and Martyn but Talwg held on to head to the Jenner final.

In the Premier Division, Cogan edged out BV 3-2, Stout put Cogan in front before James equalised from the spot for BV, Hughes restored Cohan’s lead and then in the se one half Davies made it 3-1, James pulled one back for BV to set up a nervy finish but Cogan claimed the points.

Island Marine bounced back from midweek defeat to win 3-1 against St Athan. Blackmore gave Marine the lead but Harries drew St Athan level going into the break, Howe and Bowsher then struck to give Marine the victory.

There is mid week games this week and then on Saturday the ASRS Cup final at Jenner Park, Penarth Town vs AFC Rhoose, 4pmkick off.
