Vale of Glamorgan Football League Round Up – 20/4/19

AFC Rhoose B clinched the second division championship with a comprehensive 6-1 over Vale Madrid. St Athan B sealed second spot finishing 3 points off top with a 5-3 victory over Barry Athletic B. Barry Vikings end of season dip in form continued as they were trounced 7-1 by Penarth Town. Congratulations to AFC Rhoose B on their title win.
In the Premier Division, second place AFC Rhoose edged out champions Barry Athletic 4-3 in a thriller. Although it has absolutely no effect or bearing on the league it’s still a fine win for Rhoose. Athletic look ahead to their SWFA Alliance league promotion play off. Island Marine wrapped up their season with a emphatic 8-0 thrashing of bottom side St Athan.
In Division One, Champions Holton Road finished their campaign with a 5-2 victory over a spirited  Cwm Talwg side and Cardiff Airport saw off Cadoxton Barry 3-1 to seal fifth place.
This weekend it’s the final handful of games and the Vale showpiece, the Barry Cup Final at Jenner Park on Sunday between Penarth and Cowbridge. Check back here for the round up.
