Vale of Glamorgan Football League Round Up 27/11

Another weekend of twists and turns in the Vale Premier Division title race. High flying Penarth Town were held by the leagues form side Cardiff Airport at Ceri Road. Max Jones gave Airport the lead before Michael Winton levelled from the spot.
Holton Road took full advantage of the slip up and cut the lead at the top to four points with a game in hand with a comprehensive 4-0 win over out of form St Athan. Dan Morgan bagged a hat trick and Shaun Jachontow grabbed the fourth. The attention now turns to a massive showdown when Holton Road visit Penarth Town on Saturday.
AFC Rhoose returned to winning games after three without a win as they saw off Tynewydd 4-1 at the Butts. Goals from Jenkins, Bolton, Beven and a first goal for new signing Mike Hartley.
Barry Athletic and Cogan Coronation played out a thrilling 4-4 draw at the Athletic Ground. Cogan raced into a three goal lead through a Hughes hat trick and then a 1-4 lead after a Stephens goal but Athletic showed true grit to battle back and goals from Fuller, Ihbasheh and a last minute equaliser from Avaient saw a dramatic share of the points.
In Division One that title race took a major turn after Rhoose Social returned to winning ways and ended Cwm Talwg’s run of six straight wins with a 3-1 victory. The result saw Sully Sports open a three point gap over Cwm Talwg at the top of the table after their 5-1 win over Vale Madrid in the Sully derby.
Holton Road B sit third after they eased to 3-0 triumph over BV Reserves while Vale Athletic thumped St Athan B 4-0 with Bradford Rosser grabbing a brace.
And finally, Vale Utd were victorious over Island Marine B 5-2 to go fourth, Jac Wisenden starred with a goal and three assists.
