Vale of Glamorgan Football League Round Up 7/3/20

Vale football returned after the enforced winter break thanks to the storms, with only a handful of games, but they all count. AFC Rhoose booked their place in the last four of the esteemed Barry Cup as they edged past Tynewydd in a tough battle at Ceri Road.

In Division One, second place BV closed the gap on leaders AFC Rhoose B with a monumental 2-0 victory. The result brings an end to Rhoose B’s u defeated league record and cuts their lead at the top to four points, but BV have a game in a hand, this title race isn’t over.

Cadoxton Barry came out on top of a five goal thriller as they pipped Penarth Town B 3-2. Caddy Barry stay third, four points off second and eight off first.

Vale Madrid made it two successive wins as they saw off St Athan B 3-2 at Burnham Avenue, despite St Athan B coming back from two goals down. The result moves Vale Madrid up two places to tenth.

Island Marine SWFA Senior Cup run ended at the hands of Nelson Cavs. In a very even game, Nelson scored two late goals to go through 4-2. A great run by Island Marine who have done the league proud.
Rhoose Social exited the SWFA Intermediate Cup with a 4-2 defeat to Llanharry. Rhoose Social also have had an excellent run and flown the flag of the league admirably.
