Vale of Glamorgan Football League Round Up 9/4

Sully Sports clinched the First Division Title in the most dramatic way possible as they came back from 3-1 down against Cwm Talwg to claim the point they needed for the league. Sully took the lead through Norton but Talwg hit back with goals from Yeoman and Davies to lead at the break. Kirke then converted from the spot to make it 3-1 and Talwg’s title Dream looked on, however, goals from Norton again and the equaliser from 33 goal man, Cottle gave Sully the title and promotion back to the Premier Division.

Vale United walloped Vale Athletic 7-1 in Corntown to leapfrog them into fifth place. Goals from Evans, Hicks (2), Dingle, Wilkinson, Wisenden and Bluck saw United claim the emphatic win.

In the ASRS Cup, Penarth Town kept their treble dream alive by obliterated BV with an humiliating 10-0 win in the semi-final. A Shallis hat trick, two each from Knight and Hocking, and further goals from White and Winton sent Penarth to the final at Jenner Park on the 23rd.

In that final they will play AFC Rhoose who played out an exciting final against Holton Road with a 3-2 victory. Bevan and Bryan sent Rhoose into a 2-0 lead, but Jachontow pulled one back right before half time. Bolton restored the two goal cushion for Rhoose but Pearce pulled another back for Holton to set up a tense finale but Rhoose held on and will head to the final to face Penarth Town.

In the Premier Division, Cadoxton Barry saw off Tynewydd 3-1, first half goals from Antony Jones, Randall and Liam Jones did the damage before Williams pulled back a penalty in the second half that was only a consolation for Tynny.

Barry Athletic, without a win since august before last weeks victory, made it two on the bounce as they bested St Athan 3-2. Booker put Athletic in front but Morgan levelled straight away for St Athan, Avaient then notched a second half brace before Morgan scored from the spot, but Athletic held on for the win.
