Vale of Glamorgan Senior Football League Round Up

The big fight feel took over the Vale on Saturday, not for the boxing but for Vale football league action.

We start in the Premier Division, St Athan rebounded from their opening day defeat to put FC Barry Belgrade to the sword with an impressive 5-2 win in Belgrade’s Premier Division bow. Barry Athletic continued their good start to the season as they edged out AFC Rhoose 1-0 in a tight affair to make it two wins from their first two games. Cowbridge Town came back from their opening home loss last week and secured a 3-1 victory over Penarth Town.

In Division One, Sully Sports are now the only team to have a 100% record at this very early stage of the season, showing the competitiveness of the first division. Sully notching an excellent 5-0 win over SP Billy. Tynewydd and Cadoxton Imps played out a 1-1 draw while Cardiff Airport were 4-2 victors over Barry Saints. Cwm Talwg got their first win of the campaign 3-1 over Penarth Town B and Cadoxton Athletic and Cogan Coronation played out a controversial 3-3 draw.

In Division Two, Cadoxton Barry made it two from two as they demolished struggling St Athan B 7-1, BRT Dynamos bounced back from an opening day loss with a mamouth 8-0 win away to BV. AFC Rhoose B came back down to earth after their nine goal exploits last week as Barry Albion defeated them 3-0 and finally Vale Madrid won an eleven goal thriller with Glenbrook 6-5.

No fixtures next Saturday due to the Welsh international but there is full a league program this Wednesday evening with Rhoose vs Barry Belgrade and Cogan vs Sully the stand out games.
