Vale of Glamorgan Football League Round Up
On the final weekend of the Vale league the Barry Cup was decided along with the champions of division one and two.
We start at Jenner Park where on Sunday afternoon, where Vale United completed a famous treble as they defeated AFC Rhoose 3-1 to lift the respected trophy. Rhys Edwards, Alex Gregory and Jay Tominey scoring to deliver the cup. United add the Barry Cup to the ASRS Cup and Premier Division Title.
Barry Athletic B clinched the Division One title after they came from a goal down at half time to win 2-1 against Cadoxton Barry. Ben Graham and then Dan Morgan with the winner. Athletic B pipped Barry Belgrade by two points to complete a league and cup double. Elsewhere in division one Dockers were victorious 4-2 over FC Pumas.
In Division Two, Cadoxton Imps were confirmed as champions with a 2-2 draw away to Penarth Town B, Imps had all but won the league last week with their vastly superior goal difference but this point sealed it. Barry Saints finished just one point behind Imps after a narrow 3-2 win over St Athan B. Island Marine B ended the season on a high note with a 7-1 demolition of BVFC.
There is one more game left to play n Wednesday evening, with SP Billy looking to finish third in division one if they can get past Cadoxton Athletic.
Vale champions Vale United past the ground criteria this week and are now entered into the play offs for promotion to the SWFA Alliance League, the games to be played on the 16/17 of the month, with last chance saloon game on the 20th. All games at Treforest.
And finally, with the Welsh League season over two Vale clubs are celebrating, famous Barry Town United were crowned Welsh League Division One champions to return to the Welsh Premier League. Also, Llantwit Major sealed the Welsh League Division Three title this weekend in a sensational achievement. Congratulations all involved.
