Holton Road are Division One Champions, in what must be a record quickest title win by being crowned in January. The title was confirmed with a 5-0 thrashing of Cadoxton Barry, making it an incredible 15 wins from 15 games, and six league games to go. A tremendous achievement by all at the club and congratulations to all involved. Holton Road now focus on a potential treble as the compete for the SWFA Intermediate Cup and the VOGAFL Supporters Cup.
In Division Two, Cameron Barrett and Nathan Gahan helped leaders AFC Rhoose B win the top of the table clash with St Athan B 2-0. Rhoose B move three points ahead at the top with a game in hand. Barry Vikings leapfrog St Athan B into second spot after a hard fought 2-1 win over Island Marine B making it five wins on the bounce for the Vikings. Goals from Alex Lee, Luke Brody Miles and Jamie Viscount got Barry Athletic B back to winning ways, with a 4-2 triumph over Cadoxton Athletic at the Athletic Ground to further compound the away sides recent run. At Cwrt Y Vil there was 11 goals as Penarth Town B defeated Vale Madrid 7-4 to stay fourth.
In the Premier Division, AFC Rhoose thumped 7 past bottom of the league St Athan with 2 in reply. Ben Murphy grabbed a hat trick, Josh Bryan a brace and one apiece for Jack Butler and Jordan Owen. Rhoose cut Barry Athletic’s lead to 4 points, as they win their game in hand. The title race is very much on in the Premier Division. It’s now seven league games without a win for St Athan, as last seasons runners up prop up the division. In the other Premier Division game, Cowbridge Town were held at home 1-1 by Sully Sports.
