Vale of Glamorgan Senior Football League Round Up

Holton Road took a grip upon the top of Division One as they saw off second place Cardiff Airport 3-1 to maintain their 100% start to the campaign. Holton Road maintaining their perfect start to the season while being league top scorers. SP Billy followed up last week’s first win to make it two on the bounce as they impressively edged out Cadoxton Imps 3-2. Cadoxton Barry suffered a shock 4-1 loss to Cwm Talwg, the latters first points of the season with an excellent result.

In the Premier Division, Barry Athletic continued to set the pace at the top of the league as they pipped Barry Saints 2-1, a wonder strike from Andrew Hurley sealing the points. Rhoose continue to be one of the nearest challengers and were impressive as they saw off Cowbridge Town 4-1 at the Bear Field. Island Marine’s good start to the season saw them come out 3-2 winners over Penarth Town to stay third and maintain their title challenge. St Athan lifted themselves off the bottom and into fifth spot with a vital 5-3 victory over Sully Sports, Karl Steel’s double ensuring victory.

In Division Two, Rhoose B continued to dominate as they thrashed Barry Albion 5-0, to make it five out of five so far. St Athan B picked up an impressive 2-1 away win over Vale Madrid while Barry Vikings continue their fine start to the season with a 3-2 win over Island Marine B. Barry Athletic B picked up their first three points with a 4-2 victory away to Penarth Town B.

Next week it’s a mixture of league games and three Barry Cup ties, with division one Cwm Talwg travelling to high flying Rhoose.
